Number Three, Grind Guide

THE RIGHT GRIND. DEFINED.

Proper grinding exposes just the right amount of the beans’ surface area so that the water is able to extract optimal flavors from the grounds. If your grind is too fine, over-extraction occurs, leaving harsh, sharp elements behind. If your grind is too coarse, contact is too brief, and you end up with a weak cup, robbed of its flavor and complexity.

Fortunately, achieving the correct grind is easy to do. Just select the Tully’s grind that matches your brewing method. If you prefer to buy whole bean coffee, your Tully’s barista can offer expert grinding instructions for your specific brewing device. Just ask.

TULLY’S TIPS FOR GRINDING:

  • Grinding Tip One Purchase only as much coffee as you will use in a week.
  • Grinding Tip Two Select the Tully’s grind recommended for your specific brewing device.
  • Grinding Tip Three If you’ve purchased whole bean coffee, grind just prior to brewing.
(Coffee begins to dry out and begins to stale the moment it is ground.)
  • Grinding Tip Four Use a high quality metal burr grinder, such as the Tully’s burr grinder to achieve an even grind.
